ANA domestic flights land and depart from Haneda’s Terminal 2

All Nippon Airways runs almost all of its Japan domestic flights from Terminal 2 at Haneda, while long-haul and other international flights use Terminal 3. StarFlyer and Skymark Airlines also work out of T2, so check your boarding pass: if it shows T2, you’re in the domestic-only side of the airport and any international connection will involve a landside transfer.

Getting between T2 and T3 takes at least 20–30 minutes

There is no airside corridor between Terminal 2 and Terminal 3, even for ANA-to-ANA connections. You clear security at T2 for domestic, then later clear immigration and security again at T3 for international. Build a buffer of at least 2 hours between an ANA domestic arrival in T2 and a long-haul departure from T3; FlyerTalk regulars tell Lufthansa-bound passengers to plan the route in advance instead of assuming a quick walk.

Use the free shuttle bus starting around 5:00 a.m.

The blue inter-terminal shuttle runs in a loop T2→T1→T3 from roughly 5:00 a.m., with buses every 4 minutes through most of the daytime. Stops sit outside the departures level curb; follow signs marked for the free terminal shuttle. In normal traffic, the ride T2→T3 via T1 takes around 10–15 minutes, and for many domestic–international connections this is faster than going down to the rail platforms and back up.

Or grab a free Transit Boarding Ticket for the train/monorail

Information counters inside T2 can issue a free Transit Boarding Ticket for either the Keikyu Line or the Tokyo Monorail when you show your passport and same-day boarding passes. With that slip, you ride from the shared T1·T2 station to Terminal 3 station without paying the usual 200–300 yen fare. Regulars lean on this option in heavy rain or during busy evening banks when shuttle buses bunch up along the curb.

Domestic T1 transfers are slower now that the passageway is closed

The old underground walkway between T1 and T2 is currently out of service for construction, so ANA-to-JAL domestic connections need either the same shuttle bus loop or the short hop on Keikyu/monorail between the two domestic terminals. Locals on FlyerTalk flag this as an extra step for T2↔T1 moves and suggest adding at least 15 minutes compared with pre-closure connection times.

Cafes and quick bites run from early morning

Inside T2 you’ll see chains repeated across levels: Starbucks Coffee near the central area opens early for the 6:00 a.m. departures wave, while Tully’s Coffee and Caffé de Crie handle the overflow closer to some gate clusters. Mos Burger in the domestic area is a reliable stop for a 500–800 yen burger set before short hops to places like Hiroshima or Sapporo.

Go to Sanbei or Obon de Gohan when you want a meal

Sanbei and Obon de Gohan sit landside in the main departures hall, serving set meals in the 1,000–1,500 yen range. Sanbei leans on udon and tempura, while Obon de Gohan serves teishoku-style plates with rice, miso soup, and small side dishes. If the line at ANA FESTA Restaurant snakes past the entrance during a midday bank, walk a few storefronts to Obon de Gohan instead for faster seating.

Main lounges concentrate near the ANA gates

The ANA Lounge and ANA Suite Lounge sit airside in Terminal 2 close to the core ANA gate area, serving domestic passengers with premium tickets or Star Alliance status. Power Lounge North, Power Lounge Central, and Power Lounge South offer pay-in access or card access with long tables, good outlets, and better seating than general gate areas. Don’t waste a premium lounge visit on a 35‑minute connection; use it when you have at least an hour to sit.

Shopping runs from basics to character goods

ANA FESTA and Blue Sky shops in T2 stock bento, sweets, and local omiyage boxes, often in the 1,000–2,000 yen range, that regulars grab for onboard snacking. The Itoya store sells stationery and pens, Uniqlo covers last-minute clothing and innerwear, and Matsumoto Kiyoshi has typical Japanese drugstore items with clear price tags. The Pokemon Store in T2 draws families picking up plush toys and souvenirs before domestic holiday flights.

One last tip: decide your T2→T3 route as you deplane

As soon as the seatbelt sign turns off on arrival into T2, pick your transfer: shuttle bus from the curb if it’s clear weather and off-peak, or Transit Boarding Ticket plus Keikyu/monorail if it’s raining or evening rush. Having a plan before you leave the gate area easily saves 10–15 minutes on a tight international connection out of Terminal 3.
