Free first 10 minutes right outside Terminal 1
The Kiss and Fly zone at Kraków Airport sits directly in front of Terminal 1 departures, marked as a short lay-by on the main access road. It operates 24/7 and is meant strictly for quick drop-offs, not parking. You get the first 10 minutes free; after that, standard airport road charges kick in and ramp up quickly.
Access is simple: follow the terminal signs toward “Departures” and then the “Kiss & Fly” markings about 100–150 meters before the main terminal entrance. Lanes are tight and traffic can back up around typical morning bank times, especially before Ryanair and LOT departures between 05:00 and 08:00. Stay in your car; wardens and cameras monitor dwell times and number plates.
This zone is closest to the main doors for Terminal 1 check-in rows and security, usually less than a 1–2 minute walk with bags. There are no ticket machines at the curb; timing is read automatically by ANPR when you enter and leave the road system. Overstays are billed according to the airport tariff, which can run to several złoty for just a few extra minutes.
If you need longer than 10 minutes, use the multi-storey car park P1 opposite Terminal 1 or the P2 surface car park, both signed just past the Kiss and Fly. They charge per started 30 or 60 minutes, which works out cheaper than overrunning the free zone. Plan bags and goodbyes before reaching the terminal so the actual curbside stop stays under 10 minutes.
Practical tip: check traffic on the airport access road about 15–20 minutes before arrival; if Google Maps shows a slowdown at Terminal 1, skip Kiss and Fly and head straight to P1 for a less stressful drop-off.
