Gate-side Snack Bar sits inside T1 after security
Right past security in Terminal 1, Snack Bar Gate Area is the main grab-and-go counter before you hit the boarding gates. It’s a basic airport café setup: counter service only, no table service, and you’re eating at tall stools or back at your seat near the gate. This is the last food option before you walk down to the bus-boarding stands.
Expect standard Italian bar pricing bumped up for the airport: an espresso usually lands around €1.50–€2, cappuccino closer to €2.50, and pre-made panini or tramezzini in the €5–€8 range. You pay at the till, grab your drink and sandwich, and you’re done in under 5 minutes if there isn’t a queue of early-morning flights.
Food is classic airport bar fare: pre-wrapped sandwiches, croissants, brioche, and a few pastries. Warm options can be limited outside peak times, so if you want something more substantial than a cold panino, check the hot cabinet as soon as you arrive. For drinks, it’s the usual soft drinks, bottled water, beer, and basic wine by the small bottle.
Hours track the flight schedule, with the bar generally open from the first departures wave around 05:00 until the final evening flights. That works for both the 06:00–07:00 Ryanair runs and late arrivals from hubs like Frankfurt or Rome. If you’re on one of the very last departures, don’t assume it stays fully stocked right up to closing.
Card payment is normal here, including contactless and mobile wallets, but it’s smart to keep a €5 note handy in case the card terminal glitches during a rush before a 07:00 departure. Final tip: if your gate is at the far end of T1, buy your coffee and water here first; there’s often nothing but vending machines closer to the remote stands.
