T1’s main Autogrill sits airside after security at Bologna
This Autogrill in BLQ’s Terminal 1 sits just past security in the departures area, so you’re safe stopping here even with a 40-minute boarding buffer. It’s the familiar Italian motorway brand, adapted for the airport crowd: quick self-service counters, a bar for espresso, and a line that moves faster than most gate cafés at peak times.
You’ll see the bar pulling Lavazza-style espresso shots from early morning until the last departures bank, roughly 05:00 to 22:00. A standard espresso runs around €1.30–€1.50, with cappuccino closer to €1.80–€2.20. Coffee quality sits above typical airline lounge drip, so this is a solid pre-flight caffeine stop even if you have lounge access.
Food skews Italian fast-casual: expect panini, tramezzini, arancini, and pastries under glass. Most sandwiches fall in the €5–€8 range, with simple salumi-and-cheese combos on decent bread. Breakfast pastries stay in the €1.20–€2.50 band. Portions are airport-normal, so a panino and drink will land you around €10–€12, cheaper than many non-chain spots in BLQ.
Autogrill also stocks bottled water, soft drinks, and grab-and-go snacks in the €2–€4 range. Beer and basic wine by the glass usually sit around €4–€6. It’s self-service at the food counters, then pay at the cashier, so have your order in mind before stepping up; at busy times, 12:00–14:00 and 18:00–20:00, that speeds things up noticeably.
There are seats immediately around the unit, but they fill quickly around the Ryanair and Wizz banks. If tables are taken, carry your tray to the nearby public seating between gates, roughly a 2–3 minute walk away, and eat there.
Tip: if your boarding pass shows a Schengen flight from T1, grab coffee here right after security; options thin out near some remote gates, and lines spike 20 minutes before each departure wave.
