Short-Stay Parking

Ground access

First 15 minutes at Yangon Short-Stay Parking are usually free

Short-Stay Parking sits directly in front of the main terminal complex at Yangon International Airport, a quick 2–4 minute walk from T1, T2, and T3 entrances. It is ground-level, open-air parking, best for quick drop-offs, pick-ups, and waiting out short delays. Lanes are clearly marked for private cars and taxis, and drivers can loop around again in a couple of minutes if the curbside is crowded.

The car park operates 24 hours a day, syncing with early-morning and late-night flights in T1, T2, and T3. Pay stations take Myanmar Kyat, and recent reports mention basic electronic ticket barriers at the entrance. You collect a ticket on entry, then pay at a staffed booth on exit, which adds 2–5 minutes to your total time getting out.

Pricing is structured in short bands, typically in hourly blocks, making it workable for a 30–90 minute wait while you meet someone off an international flight in T1 or T3. It gets busier around peak departure banks in the early morning and early evening, so factor in an extra 5–10 minutes to find a spot near your terminal during those times.

Short-Stay Parking is outside security, in front of the public arrivals and departures doors, so you can be at check-in counters in T2 within about 3 minutes on foot. There are no confirmed reserved or premium bays here, and shade is limited, so cars left for several hours sit in direct sun in Yangon’s daytime heat.

Plan your exit: keep small notes in Kyat ready for the pay booth so you clear the gate in under 2 minutes and avoid backing up the queue behind you.
