Long-Stay Parking

Ground access

Daily rates at Yangon’s Long-Stay Parking work best for trips over 24 hours.

Long-Stay Parking sits in the main ground access area between T1 and T2 at Yangon International Airport (RGN), a short walk from the terminal entrances. It’s outside security, so you park first, then walk to check-in for flights from T1, T2, or T3. This lot targets travelers leaving their car for several days at a time rather than quick drop-offs.

Pricing is day-based rather than hourly, so it usually starts to make sense once you pass the 24-hour mark and keep the car there for 2, 3, or more days. Short-term or drop-off parking near the terminal doors often comes at a higher per‑hour rate, while Long-Stay Parking trades that proximity for lower daily costs. If your trip runs five days or more, this is typically the more economical option versus taxi both ways.

The walk from Long-Stay Parking to the T1 check-in doors is roughly 5–10 minutes depending on your row and bags, with another 3–5 minutes to T2 or T3. There’s no shuttle loop posted online, so plan on walking on the marked pedestrian paths from the car park to the terminal curb. Build at least 15 extra minutes into your pre-flight buffer for parking, locking up, and moving luggage.

The lot is open 24 hours a day to match early-morning and late-night flights, including some departures around 02:00–04:00 and arrivals after 22:00. Lighting is basic but functional, and payment is usually handled at a booth on exit using local currency kyat. Have small bills ready; card acceptance isn’t consistently reported, and ATMs inside the terminal are past the main entrance doors.

Practical tip: take a quick photo of your row and a nearby sign before you head to T1, T2, or T3; the long rows look similar when you get back after a 3–7 day trip.
