Gate side in T1, this is the main souvenir stop

Destination Shop sits airside in Terminal 1 at OAX, after security and before the main cluster of gates. It focuses on souvenirs, so think last-minute gifts more than travel essentials. Shelves lean heavily toward Oaxaca-themed items: basic handicrafts, logo gear, and standard “I was here” merch. If you skipped the markets in town, this is a fallback, not a replacement.

Hours roughly track flight banks, with the shop usually open from the early morning departures through the last evening flights in T1. Prices run higher than downtown Oaxaca: expect to pay airport markups on magnets, T-shirts, and simple artisan pieces. You can walk here from any T1 gate in under 5 minutes, so it’s easy to pop in after clearing security and still board on time.

Quality is mixed. You’ll see some recognizable Oaxaca motifs on textiles and ceramics, but serious mezcal, fine alebrijes, and good textiles are still better bought in town at shops along Alcalá or in nearby artisan villages. Destination Shop serves more as a backup if your earlier shopping plans in Oaxaca City fell through or your luggage is tight and you just want one small item.

Tip: do a fast lap first, then set a budget before you grab that last T1 souvenir; it’s easy to spend an extra 200–300 MXN here compared to buying similar pieces in the city.
