Gate-side snacks in T1 before your Oaxaca flight

This small Convenience Store sits airside in Terminal T1, past security and before the domestic departure gates, so you can grab last-minute items without leaving the secure area. It’s one of the few places open in the early morning wave of flights out of OAX.

Expect basic snacks and drinks: bottled water, soft drinks, chips, candy bars, and packaged cookies, all priced higher than in Oaxaca city shops but normal for an airport in southern Mexico. You’ll also see a few travel-sized toiletries, tissues, and over-the-counter painkillers, useful if you skipped the farmacia in town.

The footprint is small, roughly the size of a single standard gate waiting area store, so selection is limited and popular drinks can sell out by the afternoon departure bank around 15:00–18:00. There’s usually just one cashier, which can mean a short line when multiple flights board at once from nearby gates in T1.

Payment works fine with pesos, and many travelers report cards running without issue, but it’s safer to have at least MXN 100–200 on hand for a drink and a snack. Don’t expect fresh food, espresso, or regional souvenirs here; those are better handled in Oaxaca city or other airport shops closer to check-in.

Tip: buy water and any medicine here before boarding, since most flights out of OAX are under 2 hours and may not have generous drink service.
