T1’s Delicatessen Calenda sits landside near check-in
This small deli-style shop is in Oaxaca’s Terminal T1, before security, so it works best if you still haven’t checked in or you’re waiting on a late-arriving ride. Expect a basic mix of packaged snacks, bottled drinks, and a few grab-and-go items you can carry through security without trouble.
Prices run higher than in downtown Oaxaca; think airport mark-up on chips, chocolate, and soft drinks. You’ll see familiar Mexican brands in the coolers, plus water in 500 ml and 1 L bottles that are easy to take to the gate. Payment is usually in pesos, but many counters in OAX also take major credit cards, so have a backup card ready.
Selection skews toward short-haul needs: something to munch between OAX and MEX, not a full picnic for a 10-hour haul. If you want anything specific like sugar-free sodas or particular nuts, buy them in the city first; here you’re mostly picking from mainstream labels lined up along one or two shelves.
Lines vary with the morning bank of departures around 6:00–9:00, when check-in for multiple flights hits at once. Outside those peaks, you can usually walk up, grab a cold drink in under 5 minutes, and still be at security with time to spare.
Tip: if you like to board with your own water, buy it here after check-in and keep the receipt handy in case security questions larger bottles.
