Terminal 1’s Aeroméxico lounge flies under most people’s radar
Salón Premier Aeroméxico in MEX Terminal 1 sits on the Aeroméxico side of the operation and mostly serves the airline’s own elites and premium cabin passengers, plus Priority Pass cardholders with same-day boarding passes from T1. If your flight leaves from T1 on SkyTeam, this is the default option before you start hunting for third-party contract lounges.
Access comes via Aeroméxico premium tickets, SkyTeam Elite Plus status, or Priority Pass, and entry agents do check that your flight departs from T1 rather than T2. Doors usually match Aeroméxico bank times, opening several hours before the first morning departures and running late into the evening when the last North America flights push back after 22:00.
The space sits airside in Terminal 1 after security, so you clear filters first and then follow signs for “Salón Premier Aeroméxico” near the Aeroméxico gates instead of staying near the food court. Figure 5–10 minutes walking time from most domestic Aeroméxico gates and closer to 10–15 minutes from some of the international positions at the far end of T1.
Food here tracks standard Mexican lounge fare: small sandwiches, pastries, chips, and at least one or two hot items at main mealtimes, more substantial around the 07:00–09:00 and 18:00–21:00 peaks. Drinks typically include local beer, basic spirits, and house wine, all self-serve, with bottled water and soft drinks in coolers; if you want a specific premium label, buy it in the T1 duty free instead.
Seating mixes armchairs and small tables, and power outlets are not at every seat, so count how many USB and 110V ports you see near your spot before settling in for a 2–3 hour layover. Wi‑Fi runs on Aeroméxico’s network, and speeds are usually fine for email and streaming a 1080p show, but downloading a multi‑gigabyte file can still take 20–30 minutes during bank times.
Showers are not consistently reported here, and there is no spa or nap room setup like some Asian or European lounges, so plan to shower at your hotel or at home instead of banking on facilities in this Salón Premier. Restrooms sit inside the lounge, which saves a 5–7 minute round trip back to the public ones in Terminal 1.
Practical tip: if you hold both Priority Pass and SkyTeam Elite Plus, use Salón Premier Aeroméxico first; if it looks packed, you still have time to walk 10–12 minutes to one of the contract lounges elsewhere in T1.
