Salón Premier Aeroméxico Diamond

T2

SkyTeam elites get a quieter option in T2

Right beside the main Aeroméxico lounge in Terminal 2, the Salón Premier Aeroméxico Diamond serves as the extra-tier room for SkyTeam elites and higher-tier Aeroméxico customers who want to avoid the worst of the main lounge crowd. You access it post-security in T2, in the same general lounge zone as the standard Salón Premier, but staff direct eligible passengers to the Diamond door instead of the main entrance.

Hours generally track Aeroméxico’s long-haul bank in T2, with the lounge opening early in the morning for first departures and running late into the night for flights to the US, South America, and Europe. Entry is tied to SkyTeam status and qualifying tickets rather than generic Priority Pass-style access, which alone cuts down the volume compared with the primary Salón Premier next door.

Reports consistently mention that seating pressure in the Diamond room is lighter than in the standard lounge, especially during the busy evening transborder bank to cities like LAX, JFK, and SFO. You’re still in a single large room, not a private club, but the smaller guest pool makes it easier to find a chair and plug before a peak-time departure from one of the mid-20s gates in T2.

Food and drink broadly mirror the regular Salón Premier spread, with self-serve snacks and a staffed bar, and you can expect the same Aeroméxico-branded basics rather than restaurant-level cooking. Pricing isn’t really a factor here since most guests enter on status or premium cabin tickets sold ex-MEX, but walk-up paid access is rare and usually handled at the main lounge desk rather than at the Diamond door.

Information on showers, work pods, and specific hot dishes in the Diamond section remains thin; most detailed reviews focus on the larger Salón Premier area. If a shower before a Europe-bound AM flight is mission-critical, have a backup plan in the main lounge or at an airport hotel in T2, such as checking day-room rates that line up with your check-in time.

Practical tip: if you qualify for both, always ask staff at the shared T2 lounge reception to route you into the Diamond side first and keep the main Salón Premier as overflow if things look full or a delay keeps you in MEX for more than 3 hours.
