Between Gates 1 and 3, this is Medellín’s domestic backup lounge
This is The Lounge Medellin International in T1’s domestic area, tucked between Gates 1 and 3, and it often becomes the Priority Pass fallback when Avianca’s own lounges are closed. Entry works with Priority Pass and similar bank-card memberships like LoungeKey/Global Lounge Network on domestic itineraries.
The space sits airside in the domestic concourse near Gate 1, so you clear security first, then walk a minute or two down the corridor and watch for a smaller entrance that’s easier to miss than the Avianca branding. Hours vary a bit, but reports put it open during the main domestic bank of departures, roughly covering morning through late evening.
Inside, the lounge splits into a TV room and a quieter area, with semi-reclined chairs lined up for light napping along one wall. Regulars on FlyerTalk say they head straight for those recliner-style seats instead of the TV section, since that room fills with chatter whenever a game is on.
Food is the weak point: expect small sandwiches, cold “mystery meat” plates, simple nibbles, and cookies, plus basic liquor and beer in self-serve fridges. If you want a real meal, grab something in the T1 public food court first, then treat the lounge between Gates 1 and 3 as a drink-and-snack stop.
There’s a major quirk for longer layovers: The Lounge Medellin International does not have its own bathroom at all. You have to exit to use the public restrooms just outside in the domestic corridor near Gate 1, then re-enter by showing your Priority Pass again at the desk.
Power outlets run along some walls but not at every seat, and Wi‑Fi performance tracks the terminal network, which can bog down during evening banks of departures. If you need to upload files or make a Wi‑Fi call, test speeds as soon as you sit down and move closer to the router area if needed.
What regulars do: they hit the public restroom before checking in, walk straight to the quiet room recliners for a short nap, then leave the lounge only when boarding starts at their nearby Gate 1–3 stand. Do the same and you’ll get maximum value from a Priority Pass swipe here.
