Copa Club

Copa sells tickets out of MDE T1, but the Copa Club doesn’t actually exist.

Copa operates international flights from Jose Maria Córdova International Airport’s T1, yet there is no functioning Copa Club published in current lounge guides or Copa’s own materials. Older blog posts sometimes list a Copa Club for Medellín, but recent checks in 2024 show zero operating hours, no desk, and no staff for any Copa-branded lounge at MDE.

If you’re flying Copa out of T1 on an international ticket, plan on using the general terminal seating or paying for another lounge instead. Priority Pass, for example, lists other options at MDE but does not show Copa Club among its active lounges. That absence matters more than any old signage or map reference you might see printed on a wall.

Airport forums going back several years mention Medellín (MDE) and Copa in the same threads, but regulars on Flyertalk and Reddit don’t report current access to a working Copa Club here. When frequent flyers can name the exact opening time of an Avianca lounge in Bogota but can’t name a door number or floor for Copa Club Medellín, that silence usually means the lounge is closed or never opened as planned.

Pricing data for day passes or guest fees at a hypothetical Copa Club MDE also doesn’t show up in 2023–2024 reports, even though those same posts list hard numbers for other Colombian lounges (COP amounts and USD equivalents). No hours, no gate reference, no photo of a drink fridge or snack counter with a Medellín sign in the background: taken together, it points to “listed somewhere once, not actually operating now.”

The practical move: if your Copa flight leaves T1, build your own plan as if there is no Copa Club at this airport. Check Priority Pass or your card benefits for an alternative lounge in T1, and if nothing lines up with your departure time, grab food in the public concessions after security before heading to the gate.
