600-square-foot Harmony Lounge sits on T1’s 3rd floor
On the 3rd floor of the domestic terminal near Gate 1, Harmony Lounge is the newer domestic option at MDE and one of the few spots airside where you can lie flat-ish before a flight. It runs 06:00–21:00, so you’re covered for the first departures to Bogotá and the last hops to the coast.
Entry is via airline and VIP programs, including several American Express products, but you must clear security in T1 first or you won’t see a single sign for it. Take the elevator by Gate 1 up to level 3; the front desk sits just off the corridor, in a compact 600 sq ft footprint that fills fast during the 07:00–09:00 and 17:00–19:00 domestic banks.
The headline feature here is the small open-air terrace, rare at MDE, which gives you actual fresh air instead of just terminal HVAC. Seating on the terrace is limited to a handful of chairs and tables, so timing matters if you want to grab one while watching T1’s regional traffic turn at the nearby stands.
American Express lists complimentary day beds as an included perk, and they exist, but they’re not obvious when you walk in. Look past the main seating area for a quieter corner where a few day beds sit behind partial dividers; regulars plan their visit so they can get a 45–90 minute nap without burning their entire stay.
There is an officially stated 4-hour maximum stay, confirmed in Amex’s conditions, and staff lean on it harder during the evening rush from about 17:00 onward. If you roll in right at the 4-hour mark before a 20:30 departure, expect a reminder as you approach boarding time.
Food is mostly packaged snacks plus QR‑code ordering of simple plates, more café than full meal service. Think basic sandwiches or light bites rather than a hot buffet; if you want something heavier, eat in T1’s public food court before security and use the lounge for coffee, Wi‑Fi, and a seat.
For work, Harmony Lounge has conference rooms and small workstations, one of the only setups in the domestic terminal where you can close a door for a video call. Ask staff directly for the meeting room; Medellín remote workers report it often sits empty even during peak gate‑area chaos.
Practical tip: aim for mid‑morning or mid‑afternoon, take the elevator by Gate 1 up to level 3, and walk past the main chairs to find the day beds before you settle anywhere else.
