Near Gate 1 in Terminal 1, Food Court T1 is the main sit-down option once you clear security for domestic departures at Juanda. It sits landside-facing but inside the secure area of T1, so you don’t need to budget extra time to get back to your gate. Seating is open and shared, so you can spread out more than at a single small café counter.
Most stalls here lean Indonesian: think nasi goreng in the IDR 35,000–60,000 range and mie goreng plates around IDR 40,000. Portions run on the medium side, good as a pre-flight meal rather than a full family spread. Pricing sits just above city levels but below typical airport markups, so a solo traveler can eat and grab a bottled drink for under IDR 100,000.
Food Court T1 operates roughly with Terminal 1’s domestic bank, opening around 05:00 and staying active until the last evening departures around 21:00–22:00. Early-morning flyers will find hot rice dishes and simple fried snacks ready by about 06:00. Late at night, choice narrows to a couple of stalls and drinks coolers, so don’t leave dinner until the final boarding call.
Most stalls take cash in rupiah; several accept Indonesian debit cards, and a few larger operators accept major credit cards like Visa and Mastercard. Expect counter service: order, pay, take a buzzer, then pick up from the stall window when your dish is ready. Drinks run around IDR 10,000–25,000 for tea, coffee, or bottled water, with canned soft drinks slightly higher.
You won’t find alcohol in Food Court T1, and vegetarian choices usually mean fried rice or noodles without meat, plus basic vegetable sides. If you care about spice level, say “tidak pedas” when ordering; some nasi goreng plates can hit hard for those not used to Indonesian chili. For the smoothest stop, claim a table first, then have one person walk the stalls and order while the rest guard bags and keep an eye on the departure screens.
