Fast Food

1 · FB-02-07 Open · Airport Operational Hours $$$$ Post-security

Gate FB-02-07 in T1 is where you’ll see the A & W sign first.

This is the fast-food option in Terminal 1 if you want something recognizable after security. A & W sits airside near gate FB-02-07, inside the domestic area, and runs on general airport operational hours, so it’s usually open from first departures to the last evening flights. It’s standard counter service with tray pickup and plastic seating, so think quick bite, not long sit-down.

Menu is the classic A & W lineup: root beer floats, burgers, fried chicken and curly fries. A basic combo meal runs in the lower price band for the airport (roughly $ tier), but you’ll still pay more than at a city mall branch. Figure on paying airport markup for the root beer float and chicken sets, but it’s still cheaper than many full-service spots in SUB.

Service tends to move slower than you’d expect from fast food, especially in the early evening bank of flights around 17:00–20:00. Orders batch up, and burgers and chicken can take 10–15 minutes when there’s a queue of three or four people. If your boarding pass says “final call” in under 20 minutes, skip anything that needs frying and grab drinks or pre-made items only.

Cleanliness draws mixed comments: tables don’t always get wiped between waves, and the floor around the self-service drink area often looks rough during peak hours. Trays sometimes pile up on the counter near the pick-up window. If you’re picky, scout a cleaner table a few steps away or bring wet wipes; this matters more on busy weekends around Friday–Sunday.

Tip: order your root beer float and fries together at once, then take your buzzer and sit where you can still see gate FB-02-07 so you can watch both your boarding line and the counter without pacing back and forth.
