Gate-side in T2, Travel Essentials Shop is your last-minute fix
This shop sits airside in Terminal T2 at Sofia Airport, so you hit it after security and before the gates. It’s the standard airport mix: snacks, soft drinks, basic toiletries, neck pillows, power banks, and a few souvenirs with “Bulgaria” printed on them. Prices run above city level, but not outrageous for an airport; think bottled water and sodas a couple of leva higher than in town.
Hours generally track T2’s flight bank, opening early morning for the first departures around 05:00 and staying open into the late evening. It’s the place to grab toothpaste, deodorant, or a phone charger if something got pulled at security or left at home. You’ll also find simple travel adaptors that handle EU sockets, useful if you’re connecting onward from Sofia to non-Schengen destinations via T2.
Foodwise it’s packaged only: crisps, chocolate bars, biscuits, and small sandwiches in plastic wrap. Expect standard brands more than local specialties, and single-serve items under 10 BGN. It works as a backup if the nearby T2 cafés are slammed or if you just want a quick snack to eat at the gate without standing in another line.
Tip: if you need a charger or adapter, buy it here in T2 before heading to the lower gate areas; options closer to some remote stands are thinner and sometimes closed between flight waves.
