Billa

T2

By Gate 1 in T2, Billa is the airport supermarket.

This Billa in Terminal T2 sits landside, just before security, and feels like a normal city branch compressed into airport space. You get regular Bulgarian supermarket pricing instead of terminal markups, so drinks, snacks, and basics are noticeably cheaper than most SOF cafés or kiosks. It’s an easy stop if you’re dropped off a bit early at T2 and want to stock up before heading through the scanners.

Expect standard supermarket shelves: bottled water from about 1–2 BGN, soft drinks, packaged sandwiches, pastries, and plenty of chocolate, chips, and nuts. There’s usually a decent fridge section with yogurt, cold cuts, and cheese, so you can build your own picnic instead of paying 10+ BGN for a basic sandwich airside. Grab-and-go pastries sit in the 2–4 BGN range, which undercuts most coffee bars in the terminal.

Billa in T2 typically opens early morning to late evening, roughly in the 06:00–22:00 window, but hours can shift with the flight schedule, especially on holidays. Because it’s before security, both arrivals and departures can use it, and friends or family seeing you off can walk in and shop too. Figure 5–10 extra minutes in your plan if you want to shop and still clear security without stress.

Tip: buy your sealed drinks and snacks here, but skip anything messy or with strong smells; SOF’s T2 seating near the gates is tight, and eating a full supermarket feast at 08:00 will not make you popular in row 12C.
