Four EV chargers sit just outside the SKG terminal doors
The EV Charging Stations at Thessaloniki Airport SKG sit next to the main terminal building, so you park and walk to check-in in under 2 minutes. This is short-stay style parking, not a long-term fenced lot, and you stay in the same forecourt area as the standard terminal car park. No shuttle, no extra transfers, just pull up, plug in, and head straight to departures.
Stations are in the terminal forecourt area used by Car Park P1, directly opposite the main entrance for Terminals 1 and 2. Access is off the same airport access road that feeds the regular parking and drop-off lanes. Signage is basic, so watch for the green EV symbols painted on the ground and on the nearby posts rather than waiting for a big “EV” sign.
Charging here works like a standard public station in Greece: you pay for parking at the airport rate and charging at the per-kWh rate set by the operator. These bays usually sit in the higher-priced “right-at-the-door” zone, which is similar to other European terminals where forecourt parking can run several euros per hour. Plan to top up, not leave the car all day on charge if you want to keep costs under control.
The chargers sit in open air with no shade, so in July and August the concrete in front of the terminal can feel like 35°C or more by midday. There’s no dedicated security gate around the EV bays, just the same cameras and patrols used for the rest of the terminal parking. If you’re leaving the car for more than one night, photograph the stall number and nearby terminal entry door so you can find it quickly on return.
Practical tip: take a photo of the charger screen showing your kWh and time when you plug in at SKG, in case you need to reconcile airport parking and charging fees later.
