Terminal 2 – International flights

7 airlines 7 restaurants 8 shops

Terminal T2 hosts 7 airlines. It's LATAM Chile's home turf at SCL. You'll find 7 dining options, 8 shops here.

15 minutes of walking isn’t crazy here in T2

Terminal 2 at SCL is the new international building, opened for almost all non‑domestic flights and used by LATAM Chile, Air France, American Airlines, Iberia, KLM, British Airways, and Delta. Stantec’s design stretches one long pier off a central hall, so from international security to the furthest gates can feel like a 10–15 minute walk when it’s busy. Build the buffer, especially if your boarding pass shows one of the higher gate numbers at the far end.

Layout: long pier, central hub, far gates

After passport control and security in T2, you enter a central shopping and dining zone, then walk straight down a single concourse to reach gates clustered in groups. The walking‑tour video of SCL’s T2 calls the building “huge” and shows that the distance from the central core to the last gates is noticeably longer than in T1. Older or mobility‑limited travelers complain online about these long walks, so a wheelchair request at check‑in or through your airline (LATAM, American, Delta, etc.) is worth setting up ahead of time.

Security, immigration, and priority lanes

FlyerTalk regulars report passport control “quick” and security “super efficient” in T2 when using priority lanes for international departures. If you hold elite status with airlines like Air France/KLM (SkyTeam), American/British Airways/Iberia (oneworld), or Delta (SkyTeam), look for the marked fast‑track channels before you join the main queue. On normal days this can mean getting from check‑in through both passport control and X‑ray in under 20–25 minutes instead of 40+ in the general line.

Food: from coffee to full meals

Right after security in T2, you hit a cluster of chains: Starbucks for standard lattes and drip, Lavazza for Italian‑style espresso, Mercadito Gourmet for sandwiches and grab‑and‑go, Ruby Tuesday for sit‑down burgers, and California Pizza Kitchen for US‑style pizza. Prices run higher than central Santiago: expect around CLP 4,000–5,000 for a basic coffee at Starbucks and CLP 12,000–18,000 for mains at Ruby Tuesday or CPK. Natoo and Bartolomé sit further along the pier, so if your gate is deep in the 20s or 30s, you can wait to eat until you are closer to boarding.

Lounges: premium options, but check access

T2 holds the upgraded international lounges, including alliance spaces used by airlines like Delta and Air France/KLM; one frequent flyer calls the SkyTeam lounge “very good indeed” for the region. Access usually comes via business class on partners such as Air France or Delta, or via SkyTeam Elite Plus status, with opening hours often running from early morning (around 05:00) through the last evening departures. Don’t waste a premium lounge visit on a 35‑minute connection here; the walk from some far gates back to the lounge can eat 10 minutes each way.

Shopping: duty free plus a few big brands

Just past security in T2, Aldeasa Duty Free wraps around the main walkway with liquor, perfume, and local wine, and many travelers pick up Chilean reds here. Beyond that central zone you see Victoria’s Secret, Michael Kors, Carolina Herrera, and electronics from Bose and Samsung, along with Sunglass Hut for last‑minute sunglasses. Travel Market fills the basics like adaptors, neck pillows, and charging cables if you realize at gate 22 that your USB‑C cable is still at home.

Seating, quiet corners, and power

The walking‑tour video of T2 shows gate‑area seats around the central food court and main departure banks filling up fast, with some passengers sitting on the floor near charging spots. Quieter pockets sit along the windows between major gate clusters and at dead‑end corners close to the last gates, where you’ll usually find more empty rows of seats and free outlets. If your boarding pass shows a far gate like 30+ and you have an hour, walk 5–10 minutes down the pier and camp there instead of hovering near Starbucks.

What regulars do and one last tip

FlyerTalk users flying frequently through SCL’s T2 say they always use fast‑track lanes when available and often stay at the airport‑connected hotel the night before early international departures, using the covered walkway to reach check‑in in a few minutes. Many also skip the crowded central seating and head down the concourse toward their actual gate to find emptier chairs and better access to power. One tip: for evening bank departures on LATAM or American, be at security in T2 at least 90 minutes before boarding time, not departure, to leave room for both queues and the long pier walk.
