Daily rates here undercut the main T1 short-stay lot
Estacionamiento Larga Estancia is the airport’s long-stay car park for El Salvador International (SAL) and sits a short walk from Terminal T1. It’s built for trips of several days, with pricing structured by 24-hour blocks instead of hourly like the main front-of-terminal parking. If you’re looking at parking for three nights or more, this is usually where the math starts to work in your favor.
The lot operates 24 hours a day, in step with SAL’s early-morning and late-night departures, including the 02:00–06:00 bank of flights. Entry is via the same access road that feeds the terminal curb; look for signs marked “Estacionamiento Larga Estancia” once you pass the main T1 frontage. You pull a ticket at the barrier and pay at staffed booths or automated machines on exit.
This is uncovered surface parking, laid out in standard rows with marked spaces sized for normal passenger cars and smaller SUVs, not oversized buses. Being a long-stay facility, turnover is lower than in the main T1 lot, so you’re more likely to find spaces in the same section even during peak holiday weekends around Christmas and Holy Week. If you’re worried about walking distance, favor spots closer to the pedestrian path toward the terminal.
Security at Estacionamiento Larga Estancia follows the same pattern as the primary airport lots, with perimeter fencing, lighting poles across the rows, and periodic patrols tied into the airport’s central operations. Still, remove valuables and stow bags in the trunk, especially on trips longer than 48 hours. Keep your paper ticket dry and separate from your passport; losing it usually means paying a higher “lost ticket” fee band based on the maximum daily rate.
For smooth departure day timing, park in Estacionamiento Larga Estancia at least 2 hours 30 minutes before an international flight from T1, which gives you 10–15 minutes to walk from the farthest row to the check-in counters without rushing.
