Shuttles run every few minutes between PRG and the rental lots
The Car Rental Shuttle links Václav Havel Airport Prague with the main rental car center just outside the terminal complex. Stops sit outside both T1 and T2 arrivals halls, so you don’t have to cross roads or leave the terminal area on foot. The ride takes about 3–5 minutes, which is faster than walking to the more distant rental parking areas.
The shuttle is free for anyone with a rental booking at PRG and connects directly to the counters for major brands like Avis, Budget, Hertz, Europcar, and Sixt. Most rental desks follow daytime flight banks and tend to operate roughly from 7:00 to 23:00, with a few offering 24/7 key drop in the adjacent parking structures. If you have a late arrival after 23:00, check your rental confirmation for exact counter hours before you land.
Pickup points are signed “Car Rental Shuttle” in both Czech and English near the exits from Arrivals in T1 (non-Schengen) and T2 (Schengen). Look for standard white or branded minibuses rather than full-size city buses. The loop usually runs every 5–10 minutes during peak times when multiple flights land within the same 30‑minute window, so you rarely wait long even if you just miss one.
The shuttle drops you directly at the rental center near the airport’s parking areas P1 and P2, which cuts out dragging bags across multiple lanes of traffic. Return works in reverse: you drop your car at the signed “Car Return” zone, hand back keys at the office or key box, then catch the same shuttle for the 3–5 minute ride back to T1 or T2 departures. Keep a 15–20 minute buffer in your schedule to cover car inspection and the shuttle ride before check‑in closes.
Practical tip: if you land during a busy bank (for example 10:00–12:00), send one person from your group straight to the shuttle while the others handle bags at the belt; that small head start can easily save 15 minutes at the rental counter queue.
