Qantas International Business Lounge

T2 Open · Mon, Tue, Thu, Sat: 04:45-22:15; Wed: 05:30-23:15; Fri, Sun: 04:45-23:15

Oneworld business flyers in T2 treat this as a refuel stop.

The Qantas International Business Lounge in T2 sits airside after security and mainly serves as a place to eat, shower and charge up before long-haul flights. Access is for Qantas and Oneworld business-class passengers and elites on Terminal 2 departures; there’s no public day pass option published, so don’t bank on paying at the door.

Hours run early to late: 04:45–22:15 on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday; 05:30–23:15 on Wednesday; and 04:45–23:15 on Friday and Sunday. That timing covers the first bank of Asia departures and the late-night US and Europe runs, so you can usually get a full breakfast before a 07:00 departure or a hot dinner ahead of a 23:00 pushback.

Food is buffet-style with the usual Qantas international mix: hot dishes, salads, snacks and desserts rotating through the day, plus self-serve soft drinks and coffee machines. Expect basic lounge champagne, Australian wines and standard spirits at the bar rather than anything premium; if you want a serious drink list, Emirates and Qatar lounges in T2 tend to win, when your status or cabin class gets you in there instead.

Shower suites are the main draw here, especially for those connecting off red-eyes into Melbourne and heading back out of T2 on long-haul flights. Bring your own higher-end toiletries if that matters to you, but towels and standard amenities are supplied, and you can usually get through a shower in 15–20 minutes including a short wait at peak evening departure banks.

Seating sprawls across a single level with views into the T2 concourse and towards the gates serving Qantas and partner airlines. Power points sit under many of the armchairs and along workbench-style tables, though you may need to walk a minute or two from the main entrance area to find an outlet at busy evening times when multiple 20:00–22:00 departures are boarding.

One practical tip: on days when it opens at 04:45, clear outbound passport control early and eat here instead of in the T2 public food court, which often has limited hot options before 06:00 and can charge over AUD 15 for a basic cooked breakfast.
