Two-minute walk from the A-gates, right by Gate 10
The Emirates Lounge in T2 sits near Gate 10 by the A-gates, so you walk out, turn, and you’re almost at boarding. It mainly serves as a pre-departure dinner-and-drink stop for EK passengers on the evening bank around 19:00 and the late-night departures after 02:00.
Opening hours are split: 17:15–20:45 for the evening flights, then again 01:15–04:45 for the early-morning departures. If you land from a domestic connection into T1 or T3, budget at least 20–30 minutes to walk over to T2 and get back through security before using the lounge.
Access is limited to Emirates premium cabins and elites on T2 departures, with no walk-up day pass option sold at the door. If you’re not on EK metal or without status, you’re looking at other lounges in T2 or paid food near Gate 10 instead.
Food runs buffet-style with a hot selection timed around the 19:00–21:00 wave and again after 02:00, so you can eat a full meal before boarding. Drinks include standard spirits and wine, good enough that many passengers skip buying anything in the T2 public bars once they know this is open.
Seating is mostly armchairs and small dining tables clustered along the windows facing the apron near Gate 10, with power outlets dotted between chairs. Wi‑Fi comes through the lounge network rather than the general MEL airport system, and speeds usually hold up fine for streaming during the quieter 03:00 hour.
One regular complaint from FlyerTalk is that A‑gate signage and facilities outside the lounge are weak, even though the walk from the lounge to the jet bridge is only a couple of minutes. When you leave around boarding time, watch the monitors inside the lounge carefully and note your exact gate number, because the A‑gates can feel like a dead-end corridor.
Practical tip: aim to arrive 60–90 minutes before departure, eat properly here in T2 near Gate 10, then leave the lounge as soon as your A‑gate shows “boarding” rather than waiting for a final call announcement.
