Roa

Gate-side in T1, Roa is your last-minute snack grab

Roa sits in Terminal T1 at José María Córdova International Airport (MDE), in the post-security departures area, so you don’t have to double back through screening. It runs roughly from early-morning departures through the last evening flights, matching the T1 schedule more than posting strict hours. Expect standard airport pricing: packaged items come in around 8,000–20,000 COP, with small drinks starting near 6,000 COP.

The shop leans on grab-and-go basics: bottled water, sodas, juice boxes, chocolate bars, chips, and a few sweeter treats you can eat at the gate. You’ll also find quick breakfast-style pieces like packaged pastries for early flights before 7:00. Stock isn’t huge, but for a boarding pass and a bottle of water on your way to Gate 1–10, it gets the job done without a long walk.

Roa also carries travel odds and ends you forgot to toss in your carry-on. Think simple neck pillows, basic phone cables, and small packs of medicine for a mid-flight headache, usually in the 10,000–35,000 COP range. Selection feels more “corner shop” than full duty free, so don’t expect premium electronics or high-end gifts. Still, if your phone cable dies just before a 3-hour Avianca hop, this is one of the faster fixes in T1.

Tip: hit Roa right after security in T1, before you sit down at your gate; lines get noticeably longer in the 30 minutes before each departure bank on busy mornings.
