Daily covered parking right beside MDE’s T1
Rates run by the day at Parqueadero Público Cubierto, the main covered parking area at José María Córdova International Airport’s T1. You park under a roof, so cars stay out of Medellín’s sun and afternoon rain. This is airport-operated parking, so payment and access follow the same rules as other official MDE facilities.
The lot sits within a short walk of the T1 departures doors, usually under 5 minutes from car to check-in if you already have your boarding pass. It’s on-airport, so there’s no shuttle wait or extra transfer time, which helps if you’re catching early Avianca or LATAM departures from T1.
This is fully covered parking, not just partial shade, which matters for longer trips of 3–7 days when paint and interiors take a beating. Height limits apply as in most covered garages, so tall vans and pickups with racks may need to confirm clearance at the entrance gate before pulling in.
Payment is typically per hour with a capped 24-hour maximum; the daily rate is aimed at short to medium trips rather than long-term storage of 15–30 days. You pay at on-site machines or booths before exiting, and the ticket you get when entering is what the system reads, so keep it in your wallet instead of on the dashboard.
Security is standard for an official airport facility at MDE, with controlled entry and exit barriers and staff presence during airport operating hours, which cover the early morning bank of flights before 06:00 through late-night arrivals close to midnight. As always in Colombia, don’t leave laptops or bags visible on the seats, even in covered and staffed areas.
Tip: For early flights before 07:00, aim to park in Parqueadero Público Cubierto at least 2 hours before departure, so a full lot or slow payment machines don’t eat into your check-in time.
