Parqueadero Patio Azul

Long stay

Five-minute walk from T1 beats waiting on a shuttle

Parqueadero Patio Azul sits right next to the Jose Maria Córdova (MDE) terminal, so you’re looking at about a 5-minute walk to T1 check-in with a normal roll-aboard. It’s set up for long-stay parking, so this is the lot you use when you’re leaving the car for a few days or more rather than just dropping someone off.

This is an uncovered, on-airport style lot, so factor in Medellín-area rain and sun if you’re parking for a week or longer. Being physically next to the terminal matters at MDE, because early morning departures and late-night arrivals can make a 10–15 minute shuttle feel longer than it is. Here you just walk across, handle check-in at T1, and you’re done.

Because Parqueadero Patio Azul is focused on long stay, it usually prices better than the short-term areas closest to the terminal doors. If you’re calculating costs, start by comparing their daily rate against what a rideshare round-trip from Medellín or El Poblado would cost, especially for trips of 3+ days. For most stays longer than a long weekend, this lot typically wins on price plus time saved on pickup.

There’s no need to factor in shuttle wait time into your departure timeline; just add 5 minutes to walk to T1 plus whatever buffer you normally use to clear security and migration at MDE. At pickup, you come out of arrivals in T1, walk the same 5 minutes back to Patio Azul, and you’re on the road without talking to a driver or waiting in the rideshare zone.

Tip: For very early flights before 07:00, aim to park at Parqueadero Patio Azul at least 2 hours before departure so the 5-minute walk and T1 security lines don’t stress you out.
