P1 General Parking

Short-stay

P1 sits directly opposite T1 for true short-stay stops

P1 General Parking is the short-stay garage right in front of Terminal T1 at Madrid–Barajas, so you walk to check-in in roughly 3–5 minutes. It mainly serves T1 flights and is signed as “P1 Parking General” as you approach the terminal access roads.

This is a short-stay product, so pricing is by the minute and hour, with daily costs running higher than the long-stay car parks on the airport perimeter. P1 is best for same-day drop-offs, 1–2 day business trips, or quick turnarounds out of T1, not week-long holidays. If you’re parking more than 48 hours, compare the airport’s Long Stay options before choosing P1.

P1 operates 24/7 in line with Terminal T1, so you can arrive for a 05:00 departure or land after midnight and still access your car. Entry is automated via ticket machines and barriers at the T1 access roundabout, and payment on exit runs through pay stations inside the car park and by the vehicle exits.

The car park is a multi-storey structure with numbered levels and signed pedestrian exits towards T1 departures and arrivals. Because P1 mainly feeds T1, reaching T2 or T3 from here involves an extra 10–15 minutes of indoor walking or using the terminal shuttle connection, so it’s less attractive if you’re flying from T4 or T4S.

Tip: If you’re parking for just a few hours at T1, take a phone photo of your level and sector number near your bay; it saves you hunting through several floors when you land back at MAD late at night.
