Short Stay North

Short stay

Three-minute covered walk into Gatwick North if you park here.

Short Stay North is the closest multi-storey to the North Terminal, effectively the terminal car park for BA and easyJet. It’s a short stay setup with a marked 3‑minute signposted walk straight into departures, all under cover. This is post‑security in spirit: park, grab your cabin bag, and you’re in the check‑in hall before your coffee would brew at home.

Pricing is the sting. One FlyerTalk user quoted roughly £175 for 4 days here versus about £65 at South Short Stay for the same dates, basically triple. For overnight or long weekends the gap adds up fast, so treat this as a “time is money” choice rather than default parking. For a single 24‑hour period, that same multiple roughly holds, so longer trips get painful quickly.

On the plus side, a Jubilee‑weekend report had a driver find a space on the first floor immediately with “no problems,” so capacity seems to cope even on peak UK holiday dates. Floors are clearly marked, lifts are frequent, and the 3‑minute walk is well lit and fully enclosed. It’s the definition of park‑and‑go if you’re hauling kids, ski bags, or a 05:55 departure.

Regulars know there’s a legal hack. The pedestrian walkways from South Short Stay to North Terminal are open and signposted, so some people park at South for around £65 over 4 days and walk across, pocketing the £100+ difference. That adds roughly 8–10 minutes to your walk compared with using Short Stay North directly.

Practical tip: If your outbound is pre‑7 a.m. or you’re landing back into North close to midnight, pay for Short Stay North; for daytime flights of 3+ days, book South Short Stay and walk the internal route instead.
