Premium Mid Stay

Long stay

Two-minute walk beats the shuttle without paying Short Stay money

Premium Mid Stay at Gatwick skims the middle: it’s priced below Premium Short Stay but sits right next to the terminal, with a marked 2-minute walk to North and South check-in. It’s classed as a long stay car park, so it usually prices out better for trips of 3+ days than the on-door Short Stay options.

This is an official Gatwick car park, so it’s inside the airport road system, not off-site. You park your own car, keep your keys, and walk straight to the terminal rather than waiting 10–15 minutes for a shuttle from the standard Long Stay. For families with kids and bags, that 2-minute walk avoids wrestling buggies and car seats on and off buses.

Booking online in advance usually gives the best daily rate; drive-up pricing can jump sharply, especially at busy times and during UK school holidays. It’s sold as a long stay product, so think in full days rather than hourly: for very short trips (1 day or less), Premium Short Stay in North or South can sometimes come out cheaper once you compare the actual daily numbers.

The car park is barrier-controlled with number plate recognition, so pre-bookings usually scan straight in and out. Bays are standard-width long stay spaces; no fancy extra-wide premium rows here, so if you’re in a very large SUV, you may want to arrive 10–15 minutes earlier to pick a spot you like rather than circling.

Tip: Screenshot or print your booking with the exact car park name “Premium Mid Stay” and terminal (North or South); Gatwick has several similarly named car parks, and picking the wrong entrance costs time and usually extra money on exit.
