10–15 minutes by shuttle from Gatwick South, and you keep your keys
Official Long Stay South sits on-airport at London Gatwick, about a 10–15 minute shuttle bus ride from the South Terminal. This is Gatwick’s own long stay option, with automated number plate recognition at the barrier and self-park bays, so you lock your car yourself and keep the keys for the whole trip.
The car park serves only the South Terminal, which handles airlines like easyJet and British Airways on some routes, so factor that in before you book. The shuttle buses run every few minutes during peak flight times and drop you at the South Terminal forecourt, a short walk from security and check-in. Transfers are included in the parking price you prepay online.
Booking direct through Gatwick Airport’s site typically gives the better long-stay rate, with per-day costs under the on-the-day gate price shown at the entry barrier. Stays usually run from one day up to several weeks, and the barrier system matches your car registration and dates, so you just drive in, park, then drive out again without visiting a pay machine.
This is a park-and-ride setup, not walkable: the internal road distance to the South Terminal is several minutes’ drive, so you rely on the shuttle both ways. Buses have luggage racks for suitcases, and most rides take under 15 minutes even in busy morning peaks. Staff on-site can be reached via intercom points at the barriers and near the main shelter.
Tip: aim to arrive at Official Long Stay South at least 30 minutes before you want to be in the terminal, so you’ve got time to find a bay, wait for the next shuttle, and still hit South Terminal security without rushing.
