Short stay

Right beside the Zentralterminal, P1 is Leipzig/Halle’s short-stay lot.

P1 sits directly next to the Zentralterminal, so you walk just a few dozen meters from car to check-in. It’s signed as the short-stay option and mainly suits pick-ups, drop-offs, or quick meetings at LEJ. You stay on-airport the whole time, with no shuttle and no extra transfer to Terminal B or the Zentralterminal.

This is a short-stay car park, so pricing is structured by the hour rather than long-term weekly deals. P1 usually works best for anything under a day, like seeing someone off on a morning flight or waiting for an arrival that’s due at 18:00. For multi-day trips from Leipzig/Halle, P2 or other long-term options around the airport often work out cheaper than leaving the car in P1.

The entrance to P1 lines up with the terminal access road used for departures and arrivals at Leipzig/Halle. You follow signs for “Kurzzeitparken P1” and then walk straight into the Zentralterminal departures area on the same level. Because you park next to the terminal, it’s realistic to get from your car to security for Terminal B in under 10 minutes if you’re not checking luggage.

P1 uses ticketed entry at the barrier, with payment at machines near the pedestrian exits and at some terminal access points. Keep the ticket handy; losing it usually triggers a fixed-fee charge that’s higher than normal hourly rates. If you’re picking someone up on a late flight scheduled after 22:00, budget a few extra minutes to find and pay at a working machine before walking back to the car.

Practical tip: for pick-ups, wait in the car at P1 until the flight shows “baggage claim” on the Zentralterminal screens, then walk in; that usually caps your stay to one or two paid hours.
