150 meters from the Zentralterminal, P2 is the “quick in, quick out” lot
P2 sits directly in front of the Zentralterminal at Leipzig/Halle Airport, around 150 meters from the main entrance. It’s signed as short-term parking, so think drop-offs, pick-ups, and quick business trips. Walking time to the terminal doors is roughly 2–3 minutes on level ground, so it stays usable even with a roll-aboard and a checked bag.
This is a short-stay car park, not a long-holiday option, and pricing at LEJ generally reflects that with higher hourly rates than the outer lots like P4 or long-term areas. Use P2 if you’re staying under 24 hours or just want to be as close as possible to the Zentralterminal check-in hall. For longer trips, doing the math vs. a long-term car park usually pays off after day 2 or 3.
P2 is open 24/7, matching the airport’s early-morning departures and late-night arrivals, including cargo-driven traffic that runs past midnight. You get standard ticketed entry at the barrier, then pay at the machines near the terminal doors or at the exit on your way out. Keep the ticket dry and out of direct sun on the dashboard; replacement fees can easily exceed several hours of parking.
Access works for both the Zentralterminal and Terminal B, with Terminal B reachable in roughly 5–7 minutes on foot from P2 via the marked pedestrian routes. If you’re dropping someone for a B-gates flight and don’t want to use the short free drop-off lane, P2 is the closest paid option that still keeps the walk short.
Tip: If you only need 30–60 minutes for a pick-up, check the posted rate board at the P2 entrance; if you see more than two hours on the meter, it usually makes sense to move to a cheaper long-term lot for the rest of the wait.
