10–15 minutes on foot from the Zentralterminal
P8 sits outside near the Zentralterminal at Leipzig/Halle Airport and functions as a basic outdoor car park. It’s one of the standard surface lots, so expect open-air parking with no height restrictions, useful if you’re driving a taller vehicle or have a roof box. Being outside also means your car takes full weather, so factor in frost or heat if you leave it for several days.
This lot serves the Zentralterminal and Terminal B, with a typical walking time of around 10–15 minutes to check-in, depending on your pace and luggage. There’s no terminal-side drop-off inside P8 itself, so you roll bags across standard tarmac and pedestrian paths. If you’re catching an early morning flight, add an extra 5 minutes for finding a space in the darker corners of the lot.
As an official airport-operated outdoor option, P8 usually prices below the closest multi-storey garages right at the Zentralterminal. You generally pay per calendar day, and advance online booking on the airport site often undercuts the drive-up rate by several euros. Payment typically runs through standard ticket machines that accept cash and cards, so keep your entry ticket handy and don’t leave it in the car.
P8 is uncovered, lit, and lined with marked spaces, but it doesn’t have barriers or staff on every row. If you park for more than 3–4 days, choose a space under a lamp for better visibility at night when you return. Lock the car, clear the cabin, and snap a quick photo of your row sign so you’re not wandering around with bags after a late arrival.
Practical tip: if you have heavy luggage or small kids, drop them and bags at the Zentralterminal curb first, then loop back and leave the car in P8 before walking in light.
