5–10 minutes on foot from the Zentralterminal, P30 cuts costs
P30 sits north of the Zentralterminal at Leipzig/Halle Airport and sells itself as the main economy option for longer trips. It’s an open-air surface lot, so think simple lines of spaces, no height limits, and usually more availability than the closer multi-storey garages. Walking time to the Zentralterminal check-in area runs about 5–10 minutes at a normal pace, so add that into your departure buffer.
This is economy parking, so day rates typically undercut the closer car parks by several euros per 24 hours. It suits three-day weekends and week-long trips more than quick overnights. Payment runs through the standard airport system at Leipzig/Halle, so you pull a ticket at entry and pay at an automated machine on your way back, then exit through the barrier. Keep the ticket dry; the machines can be picky.
P30 works for both Zentralterminal and Terminal B flights, as all check-in and security funnel through the same central complex at LEJ. From the lot, you follow signed pedestrian routes toward the Zentralterminal main entrance, then head to your airline’s counters or straight up to security if you checked in online. In bad weather, expect a fully exposed walk for those 5–10 minutes with no real shelter en route.
There’s no dedicated shuttle serving P30, so you are on foot the whole way and back again. That’s fine for most people with one suitcase and a cabin bag, less fun with bulky ski gear or multiple kids. If you land late into Terminal B around 23:00, remember you still have that short outdoor walk to reach your car in P30. One tip: take a quick photo of the nearest row marker or sign when you park; the layout can look identical after a week away and a sleepy return flight.
