P1 Parking Garage is the short-stay option directly across from Terminal T1 at Kunming Changshui International Airport, so you walk from car to check-in in just a few minutes. This is the closest multi-storey parking to the main terminal doors, making it the default choice for drop-offs, quick trips, and same-day returns.
This garage runs as a short-stay facility with pricing calculated by the hour, and daily caps that are noticeably higher than the open-air long-term lots further away from T1. If your stop is under 6–8 hours, P1 usually pencils out, but for multi-day trips you start paying a premium compared with the remote lots linked by shuttle.
P1 is fully covered across multiple levels, so your car is under a roof during Kunming’s summer storms or winter cold, which is one of the key differences versus the surface parking fields near the airport access road. Elevators connect each level directly down to the ground-floor exits facing Terminal T1, which cuts out extra walking with suitcases.
Payment machines in P1 take standard bank cards and mobile payments commonly used in China, and the ticket system logs your entry time to the minute. Pay at a machine near the pedestrian exits before returning to your car, then you have a short grace period to drive out without extra charges, which helps avoid holding up the exit lane.
If you expect even the slightest arrival delay on your return to KMG, pad your parking time and treat P1 as an under-12-hours solution rather than pushing it close to the daily cap.
