2-hour cap and China Southern only at gates 64–65

This China Southern Lounge sits airside in T1 domestic departures on the 3rd floor, right by gates 64–65, and it only admits passengers actually flying China Southern. Hours track China Southern’s domestic schedule: it opens around 90 minutes before the first flight and closes after the last one. Treat it as a short pre-flight pit stop, not a half-day office.

Access runs through China Southern status and partners: SkyTeam Elite Plus on China Southern, plus invited premium-cabin passengers on domestic flights from T1. Priority Pass and some Amex products list it, but still require you to hold a China Southern boarding pass for a same-day domestic departure. If you’re connecting off another airline within KMG, you can’t use this lounge for that turnaround.

Space is moderate by Chinese hub standards, and Priority Pass adds a clear warning that access may be restricted during peak banks, especially around concentrated morning and evening China Southern departures. Expect the usual mix of armchairs and small tables, with basic power outlets scattered around rather than at every seat. If you’re near gate 64 or 65, factor in a 1–2 minute walk back to boarding when they call your flight.

Food follows the standard domestic pattern: simple hot dishes, a few snacks, and soft drinks included in entry. Think quick rice or noodle options, packaged items, and tea or coffee machines rather than anything plated to order. Alcohol, if stocked, tends to be limited and local, so don’t plan your only pre-flight drink here. If you care about something specific to eat, grab a backup from a terminal vendor in T1 before heading in.

The lounge does stand out with complimentary luggage storage and massage chairs, both called out by Priority Pass as included perks. Luggage can be checked with staff so you’re not guarding a roller bag every time you get up for food. Massage chairs are usually first-come, first-served; on busy evenings they’ll be the hardest seats to snag during that 2-hour window.

Watch out for the strict 2-hour maximum stay, confirmed by both Priority Pass and American Express, enforced from the time you enter. Front desk staff at KMG generally stick to that rule, especially when the China Southern departure board is stacked. Time your arrival to about 70–80 minutes before boarding so you actually use the whole window instead of sitting there through a long delay call.
