Opposite domestic gate 28 in T1, this “Bank Co-branded Lounge” is basically KMG’s catch‑all landside pay lounge.
It sits before security in Terminal 1, directly across from gate 28, so it works for both early arrivals off trains and people getting dropped at the curb who want a seat and Wi‑Fi before joining the security lines. You can walk here in under 5 minutes from the main T1 check‑in island area.
Access runs on swipe-and-enter: multiple China bank and credit‑card lounge programs recognize it, and anyone can usually pay a door fee in RMB. It’s listed as open to all passengers in T1, regardless of airline or cabin, so economy on a cheap domestic ticket still gets you in if your card issuer participates.
Hours track the domestic bank‑card crowd, roughly from the first departures into the late‑evening T1 bank of flights; if you’re on a 23:30 departure, assume it might be closing down by the time boarding starts. Staff typically scan your boarding pass plus bank or credit card, then hand you a Wi‑Fi code.
Food sits at the basic end of China domestic lounges: think a few hot trays, packaged snacks, and soft drinks rather than anything fancy. Coffee is usually from a push‑button machine, and you’ll see bottles or dispensers of tea and water on a self‑serve counter. Prices for paid entry, when posted, sit well below big‑city Priority Pass lounges in CNY terms.
Seating runs standard: rows of armchairs and small side tables, close together, with power outlets shared between seats. It’s still an upgrade over T1’s public benches, especially if you need to plug in a laptop and catch up on email before a domestic transfer in KMG T1.
No major horror stories surface in English, but also no glowing reviews. Think contract lounge doing volume for multiple banks, not a flagship space. You won’t get showers, bar service, or tarmac views here, just a quieter pocket and Wi‑Fi on the landside of T1.
Tip: use this lounge if you arrive at KMG more than 2 hours early and can’t check in yet; wait here opposite gate 28, then head to security once your airline’s counter opens.
