Gate-side caffeine fix near departures in T1
This Starbucks sits airside in Terminal 1 at Kos “Ippokratis” Airport, a short walk from the main departure gates. It’s one of the few branded coffee spots after security, so expect a line in the morning bank of flights. Seating is limited to a handful of tables and some counter space, and it fills quickly during the 06:00–09:00 departures wave.
You’ll find the standard Starbucks menu here: espresso drinks, filter coffee, Frappuccino-style iced drinks, and basic teas. Prices run higher than downtown Kos; think roughly €4–€6 for most coffees and iced drinks, with bottled water and soft drinks under €3. Food is the usual pre-packed pastries and sandwiches, with croissants and simple panini going fastest before early flights.
The shop keeps airport-oriented hours, generally opening ahead of the first departures around 05:00 and closing after the last evening flights, often near 22:00 in peak season. There’s no separate power bar, but a couple of wall outlets sit by the side rail seating, and staff are used to people camping with laptops between gates 1–5.
Lines spike just after security when several buses arrive at once, and mobile order options from big-city locations don’t apply here. Card payments are widely accepted, including contactless and mobile wallets, and staff handle mixed Euro/cash-card groups quickly. If you care more about getting a drink than where you sit, grab your coffee here, then walk 2–3 minutes toward the quieter end of T1 to find spare seats near the later-numbered gates.
