Aurora

Café

T1

Aurora sits in T1 departures, just past central security

Aurora is the main café in Terminal T1 at Kos “Ippokratis” Airport, right in the departures area after security. You’ll walk past it on the way to the common Schengen gates. It runs through the main departure hours, roughly from early-morning check-in waves until the last outbound flights late evening, so you’re covered on most holiday-bank schedules.

Expect typical Greek airport café basics: espresso, cappuccino, bottled water, soft drinks, and pre-made sandwiches at standard airport markups. Coffee usually prices in the €3–€5 range depending on size and style, and cold drinks land around €2–€4. Food is mostly grab-and-go, so you’re not sitting around waiting 25 minutes for a plate while your T1 gate is already showing “go to gate.”

Seats are limited and cluster around the counter area in T1, so during the morning wave of UK and German departures it can feel tight. If your flight from Kos boards from a bus gate, leave a 10–15 minute buffer from finishing your drink to first boarding call, since walking plus a bus transfer can eat time. Lines spike hard when two or three charter flights close check-in at once.

Best move: buy a large water and any snacks you want for the flight in one go, since there are few alternatives once you commit to your specific T1 gate area. Pay, then grab a seat facing the departures screens so you see any sudden gate change without having to stand at the bar and hover.
