T1

Gate-side in T1, Athens Protasis sits in the main departures area

This souvenir shop is in Terminal T1 after security, so you can duck in after passport control without backtracking through check-in. It’s a small walk-through space on the way to the gates, easy to hit even on a 30–40 minute wait before boarding. You’re paying airport pricing, but not the eye-watering luxury-store kind; think mid-range gifts rather than duty free splurges.

Athens Protasis focuses on Greek-themed souvenirs: think magnets under €5, keyrings, mugs and small icons featuring Kos and Athens landmarks. Shelves usually mix generic “Greece” items with a few Kos-specific prints and logos, useful if you forgot to grab anything in town. Packaging leans carry-on friendly, so nothing bulky or fragile that’s hard to stash under the seat on a full Aegean or Ryanair flight.

You’ll also see basic travel extras like small tote bags, notebooks and fridge magnets hanging on blister packs near the front. Don’t come in expecting food specialties; for olive oil or wine, you’re better off at the Hellenic Duty Free Shops in the same T1 departures zone. Cards work without issue, and prices are tagged in euros only, so no surprise multi-currency conversions at the till.

Tip: if boarding from a remote stand, shop here before you head to the bus gates, as there’s nothing similar near the downstairs holding rooms at T1.
