Most major Jeddah hotels run shuttle vans from Terminal 1

Many 3–5 star hotels in Jeddah send shuttle vans to King Abdulaziz International Airport (JED) Terminal 1 and the Hajj Terminal, but they usually operate only for registered guests with advance notice. Some properties group arrivals so the van comes every 60–90 minutes instead of on a fixed timetable, so don’t assume there’s a bus waiting right outside arrivals.

At Terminal 1, hotel shuttles typically pick up from the ground transport area outside the arrivals level, near where taxis queue; the exact bay number varies by hotel, so check the confirmation email or WhatsApp message from the hotel for the stall number. At the Hajj Terminal, seasonal traffic means hotels sometimes shift between pre-booked buses and smaller vans, so staff may hold a sign with the hotel name in the arrivals hall.

Most airport–hotel rides into central Jeddah take 25–45 minutes depending on traffic on Route 5 and Route 40, and some hotels cap the free shuttle radius at about 20–30 km from JED. A few budget and mid-range properties around the Al Salamah and Al Naeem districts may charge a per-van fee (often in the SAR 80–150 range) instead of offering the ride free, so confirm the price in Saudi riyals before you land.

Shuttle vans in Jeddah are usually 7–14 seat vehicles, and some hotels limit luggage to one large suitcase and one cabin bag per person for airport transfers. If you’re traveling with ski bags, surfboards, or several large cases, ask the hotel to send a bigger vehicle or a second van at least 24 hours before arrival; otherwise you may end up waiting for a second run back to Terminal 1.

Hotels commonly ask for your airline, flight number, and scheduled arrival time at JED so they can track delays and adjust pickup, especially on late-night flights landing after 23:00. If your bag is slow at baggage claim and it’s been more than 45–60 minutes since landing, call or message the hotel so they don’t send the van back to the city empty.

Practical tip: Arrange your hotel shuttle by email or WhatsApp at least one day before you fly, and when you land at Terminal 1, connect to airport Wi‑Fi and confirm your exact pickup point and vehicle plate number before walking out to the ground transport area.
