Souvenir Shop

1

Magnets in T1 cost far more here than in Hurghada town.

Souvenir Shop in Terminal 1 sits inside the main duty-free mix, listed right alongside alcohol, cigarettes, perfumes, cosmetics, jewelry, and electronics. You see the usual airport gifts: magnets, keychains, pyramids, pharaoh statues, camels, and generic “Egypt” trinkets. Think of it as the last rack of gifts after security, not a curated local-handicraft spot.

On arrival, the duty-free area with souvenirs is in the baggage claim hall after passport control, so you can grab something before you even reach the taxi line. On departure from T1, you’ll pass similar shelves again after security, usually close to the main duty-free store rather than in a standalone shop. Hours broadly track flight banks, so it’s open for early-morning and late-night charters.

Prices get complaints: travelers call simple magnets and keychains “significantly more expensive” than in the city, sometimes double what you saw in Sheraton Road shops. Fine if you forgot a gift, painful if you’re buying ten pieces at once. Treat perfumes and alcohol here as normal duty-free, but assume a heavier markup on the souvenir side compared with town bazaars.

Regulars only buy here when they truly need a last‑minute present before boarding or right after landing. They window‑shop the statues and magnets, mentally compare against city prices, and then only pick up one or two pieces. Practical move: if you care about budget, do your bulk souvenir shopping in Hurghada itself and use Souvenir Shop only as a backup for one forgotten gift.
