Convenience Shop

Gate area in Terminal 1, basic last-minute Convenience Shop

This small Convenience Shop in Terminal 1 at Hurghada International functions more like a mini duty-free corner than a full supermarket. You’ll find it airside after security, near the main gate cluster used by European leisure flights. Stock is simple: soft drinks, bottled water, crisps, cookies, a few chocolate brands, and some cigarettes and basic toiletries.

Prices run higher than in Hurghada city supermarkets, with a 0.5L water often costing several times the street price, but it’s still cheaper than buying drinks on many charter flights. Expect mostly international labels you recognize plus a few local snacks. Payment is usually in foreign currency or card; have small bills or a Visa/Mastercard ready, as staff sometimes refuse large notes.

Opening hours roughly track flight banks, so the shop tends to be open from early-morning departures around 04:00 through late-evening waves, especially on peak tourist days. Selection shrinks toward the end of the night when shelves aren’t restocked between flights. There’s no fresh food counter here, just packaged sandwiches at best, and those go fast on busy weekend mornings.

If you need anything more specific than drinks, packaged snacks, or a forgotten toiletry, buy it in town before heading to HRG Terminal 1. Use this Convenience Shop only for true last-minute top-ups: grab a cold drink, a snack for a 4–5 hour flight, and maybe toothpaste. Final tip: check the expiry date on sandwiches and chocolate before paying; rotation can be slow between charter waves.
