Peak evenings in T3 can make this ANA Lounge feel like gate seating with free food.
The ANA Lounge sits airside in Terminal 3, used most heavily during the late-evening departure bank for North America and Europe, roughly 20:00–00:00. Access is for eligible ANA and Star Alliance premium passengers departing from T3 international gates. At those peaks, regulars report “ridiculously crowded” conditions with people circling for seats, so build expectations around function, not luxury.
Figure on standard long-haul hours: the lounge typically opens early morning in time for first ANA departures and runs through the last late-night flights out of T3. Entrance is past security and immigration, so you need an international boarding pass for same-day departure. Most flyers using United, ANA, or other Star Alliance carriers out of Haneda T3 will be directed here as the default option.
Food is basic but predictable: rice, curry, a couple of hot trays, salad, and snacks at peak hours, with lighter options between banks. Expect soft drinks, beer from tap machines, and standard spirits, not a high-end bar program. If you want a proper sit-down meal, many prefer to eat in T3 landside or at a gate-area restaurant before heading in for a quick bite and shower top-up.
Showers are the main draw, especially for overnight connections and red-eyes. There are a limited number of shower rooms, and during the 20:00–23:00 rush they can run full with waitlists stretching 30–45 minutes. If your flight is in that window, head straight to the shower desk as soon as you check in at the lounge instead of hunting for a seat first.
Seating spans standard armchairs, bench-style rows, and some counter spots with power outlets, but not enough plugs for every seat. Power is easier to find along the windows and at high-top counters closer to interior walkways. At heavy banks, expect people camped on every surface near a socket, so charge your devices in the terminal beforehand if you’re arriving after 20:00.
Regulars time their arrival to miss the worst crowds rather than plan a long stay. Many international flyers targeting ANA or United late-night departures into North America aim to reach the lounge about 60–75 minutes before boarding instead of three hours early, just enough for a shower, a quick plate of curry, and a drink.
Practical tip: if you have a choice, shift to an earlier airport arrival and hit the lounge before 19:00; you trade a quieter seat and shorter shower wait for a much less stressful start to your long-haul.
