Cathay Pacific Lounge - The Wing

T1 · 1-4 Open · 05:30-00:30 showers

Five minutes from T1 security, The Wing is the “shower lounge.”

Near gates 1–4 in Terminal 1, The Wing Business side is the Cathay spot people use for a quick reset more than for peace and quiet. Hours run 05:30–00:30, so it covers almost every departure bank out of HKG. If your gate number starts with a 1, this is usually the closest Cathay option to board from.

The headline feature: 23 shower rooms. That number matters because it keeps waits short even at evening peaks. Reviewers who couldn’t get into Plaza Premium First walked back here specifically to shower, and still got in quickly. If you need a proper rinse after a long-haul, pick The Wing first and save The Pier for food or quieter seating later.

This is a business-class lounge by character, even though you’re coming in on a First Class ticket. Expect plenty of seating zones, standard Cathay buffet staples, and a made-to-order noodle bar instead of anything fine‑dining. You’re here for speed and proximity: gates 1–4 are less than a 5–7 minute walk from the entrance, and you’re maybe 3–4 minutes from the main central security point.

Food runs on Cathay’s usual rotation: dim sum baskets, a couple of hot mains, and noodles from the bar at peak mealtimes. Drinks include self‑pour beer, basic spirits, and soft drinks; if you want deeper champagne lists or quieter bar service, The Pier First in T1 is the upgrade. Prices are irrelevant once you’re through the door, but access rules matter: this Wing space is for premium‑cabin and oneworld elites, not pay‑in customers.

Regulars with a same‑day Cathay or oneworld boarding pass treat T1 like a lounge crawl. They’ll start at The Deck near gate 6, move to The Pier around the mid‑T1 gates, then walk back and finish at The Wing because it’s closest to the security channel and the 1–4 gate cluster. Many deliberately time a 15–20 minute stop here just to shower before boarding.

Watch out at night: one FlyerTalk user reported bright lights and active vacuuming during an overnight layover, so this is a poor choice if you are trying for a 2–3 hour nap. Seats near the interior walkways pick up boarding calls and cleaning noise, so use earplugs or pick a corner away from the main buffet line.

One practical tip: if you land into T1 and have a tight connection of under 90 minutes plus a long next leg, head straight here from security, grab a shower first, then worry about food or a secondary lounge afterwards.
