Cathay Pacific Lounge - The Deck

T1 · Near Gate 6 Open · 05:30 - 00:30 showers

Five minutes from Gate 6, this is Cathay’s “use and go” lounge

The Deck sits airside in T1 near Gate 6, open 05:30–00:30, and mainly serves Cathay Pacific passengers boarding from gates 1–10 who don’t have time to hike to The Pier or The Wing. Think backup plan: less spectacle than the big lounges, but close enough that you can walk out and be at Gate 3 or 7 in under 10 minutes.

The signature feature is The Terrace, a semi-open L‑shaped space facing the apron and taxiway near the low single‑digit gates. You get direct views of CX widebodies pulling into gates 1–4, plus good natural light compared with some interior lounges in T1. Seats fill fast ahead of CX evening banks, so snag a table along the glass if you want uninterrupted plane‑watching.

Food is smaller in scope than The Pier: a compact noodle bar with made‑to‑order bowls, a few hot trays, and snacks that turn over between breakfast and dinner peaks. Expect wonton noodles, dim sum, and 1–2 Western mains, plus canned drinks and a self‑serve fridge with beer; wine and basic spirits sit on a counter near the coffee machine. If you care about premium alcohol or long menus, walk the extra 7–10 minutes to The Pier Business instead.

Showers are limited here, with only a modest handful of rooms compared with The Wing’s larger bank, so a 15–20 minute wait around the 22:00 long‑haul departures isn’t rare. Beds aren’t an option, just standard lounge chairs and a few high‑tops, so this works better for a 45‑90 minute refresh than a four‑hour layover. Ask at reception for a shower slot as soon as you enter; they’ll take your CX boarding pass and call your name.

Regulars on HKG runs usually skip The Deck unless boarding near gates 1–10 on a sub‑60‑minute connection, in which case they pop in for a fast noodle and a shower before heading to Gate 6 or 8. Many will check the CX app or FIDS and only commit to The Deck if their flight is parked in the low single digits, otherwise they budget 12–15 minutes each way to/from The Pier.

Practical tip: if your CX flight leaves from Gate 2–9 and you land in T1 with under an hour to spare, head straight to The Deck, grab a terrace seat, order noodles first, then shower; that sequence usually fits comfortably into a 35–45 minute window before boarding starts.
