Cathay Pacific Lounge - The Bridge

T1 · Near Gate 35 Open · 05:30 - Last flight showers

Closed since 2020, The Bridge is still listed near Gate 35.

This Cathay Pacific lounge in T1, signed as “The Bridge” by Gate 35, ran daily from 05:30 to last CX departures before the pandemic, but it has not reopened since. Current Cathay materials still reference the space, which confuses first‑timers walking the mid‑30s gate area looking for a working lounge.

The official location is airside in Terminal 1 near Gate 35, roughly the middle of the long concourse. Before closure, it served Cathay Pacific and oneworld premium passengers plus eligible status holders; now, staff at nearby CX counters and gates direct passengers toward The Wing near gates 1‑4 or The Pier near gates 65‑71 instead.

Recent lounge strategy threads on Flyertalk name only three active Cathay lounges at HKG T1: The Wing, The Pier, and The Deck. Regulars who used to plan connections around The Bridge’s mid‑terminal position now route themselves toward The Pier Business (around gates 65‑71) for longer layovers or The Wing Business and First near gate 2 for shorter ones under 90 minutes.

Historic reviews mentioned a split layout with bakery, long bar, and shower rooms, but none of that is currently accessible. As of 2024, there are no published reopening dates, and Cathay’s own lounge maps for Hong Kong focus capacity on The Wing (T1 East Hall), The Pier (T1 West Hall), and The Deck (near gate 6) during the 05:30 to last‑flight operating window.

What regulars do: On a Cathay flight departing near gate 30‑40, many still walk 10–12 minutes back to The Wing for a quick shower and noodle bar, then leave around 35 minutes before boarding. For departures in the high 60s, they head straight to The Pier and stay put, skipping a mid‑terminal stop that The Bridge used to fill.

Watch out for: Older online guides and even some airport signage still mention The Bridge by name, which can cost you 15 minutes of backtracking between gates 30–40 and 1–6. Treat any “Gate 35 lounge” reference as outdated and instead follow current Cathay or oneworld lounge lists dated 2023 or later.

One practical tip: land in T1, check your departure gate, then commit early—under the 10‑minute mark—to either The Wing (gates 1‑4) or The Pier (gates 65‑71) and skip any detours toward Gate 35 expecting The Bridge to be open.
