Gate-side leather shopping in T1

Pearls & Leather Garments sits airside in Terminal 1, so you can browse right after clearing security for domestic or international departures at GOI. It’s a small shop focused on leather jackets, belts, bags, and pearl jewellery, an alternative to the usual snack-and-souvenir stands in this terminal.

Most leather wallets and small accessories land in the roughly ₹800–₹1,500 range, with bigger handbags and jackets climbing much higher, so check tags before you get carried away. Stock skews more classic than trendy: think plain black and brown leather rather than fashion-forward cuts. Pearls are sold as necklaces, earrings, and bracelets alongside the leather goods.

Quality feels more “airport gift” than high-end boutique, and there’s no obvious branding from major international labels on display. You’re mainly paying for the practicality of picking up a last-minute gift in T1 instead of heading into Vasco da Gama or Panaji markets. If you’re particular about leather grade or sourcing, treat this as a quick look rather than a serious shopping mission.

There’s no posted fitting room, so trying on jackets in the aisle can take a few minutes if the shop is busy with other T1 passengers. Bags and belts are easier impulse buys, and pearl studs or simple bracelets pack light in a carry-on. Tip: photograph price tags and receipts at the counter in case you need to confirm values at customs or with your card issuer later.
