Economy Parking Lot

Uncovered long-stay

Most locals skip on-airport parking at FOR and use streets

Pinto Martins International (FOR) technically lists an Economy Parking Lot, but budget flyers in Fortaleza often leave cars on nearby streets in Aerolândia or Montese instead, or stay at pousadas that include parking and a short ride to Terminal T1. That tells you the on-airport “economy” option isn’t a huge draw on price.

The Economy Parking Lot is an uncovered long-stay area, so your car sits in full Fortaleza sun and tropical rain for the entire trip. Shade is limited to whatever you bring, so think about a reflective windshield cover and factor in cabin heat if you land back at FOR in the middle of the afternoon peak, between roughly 13:00 and 16:00.

Because day rates are not clearly published online and locals openly talk about avoiding on-airport parking, assume pricing sits close to other Brazilian airport long-stay lots, often in the range of R$30–R$60 per calendar day. If you’re leaving the car for five nights or more, call ahead or check the airport’s official channels before committing; at that point, a nearby hotel package with parking can come out cheaper.

The walk from the long-stay area to T1 departures is typically in the 5–10 minute range, depending on exactly where you find a space in the uncovered rows. That short walk means drop-off and pick-up are easy at odd hours, like 02:00–04:00 red-eye banks, but you’ll be moving your own bags the whole way with no shuttle backup if it rains hard.

With no consistent user reviews or photos for this specific lot, treat it as a generic uncovered airport car park and plan for the basics: arrive at least 20–30 minutes earlier than you normally would, so hunting for a space and walking in never eats into your check-in or security time at T1.
